Hilarie Alomar

Planning and Development Director

Hilarie Alomar is responsible for creating asset value through planning, development and execution of master plans for a commercial real estate portfolio valued at $3 billion. Duties include financial feasibility, due diligence, entitlements/permitting, capital project budgeting, marketing and leasing, partner relationships, and other development activities. Ms. Alomar also has extensive background in developing and implementing community consultation strategies that have a positive impact on permitting, project execution, and building community trust.

While at KS, Hilarie was instrumental in KS’ nationally award-winning North Shore Plan, as well as the Haleiwa Store Lots redevelopment, Kapālama Kai Plan addressing 105 acres of TOD lands, and the Kaiaulu ‘o Kaka‘ako Master Plan. Prior to working for Kamehameha Schools she was employed as a Project Manager for Townscape Inc., an environmental and community planning firm. 

An active member of the American Planning Association, Hawai‘i Chapter, Lambda Alpha International (LAI), and the Urban Land Institute, Hilarie also serves as a board member of Trees for Honolulu’s Future—a nonprofit organization that raises awareness and curriculum on the benefits of trees in our communities.

Hilarie was raised in Hilo, Hawaii, and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a Master’s in urban and regional planning from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.

In her free time, Hilarie enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, going to the beach, volunteering at her kids schools, cooking, and reading.
