Apply to Ho‘omāka‘ika‘i

Ho‘omāka‘ika‘i is a one-week program for students who will be entering grade 6 in SY 2024-25. The program engages students in hands-on learning activities focused on cultural values and practices to develop Hawaiian identity and leadership.

This year, the Ho‘omāka‘ika‘i program will return to  a week-long residential program model. Students will engage in cultural activities during the day and return to our campus dormitories in the evenings. 

Tuition: $150.00. Fee waiver available.


  • Entering Grade 6 in the 2024-25 school year
  • Not currently enrolled full-time at a Kamehameha campus
  • Applicants must be able to fully participate in the program.

Ancestry verification

Kamehameha Schools’ admissions policy is to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law. If you would like your child to be considered under that policy, your child’s Hawaiian ancestry must be verified by Kamehameha’s Ho‘oulu Verification Services.
